Game 1

2-9-2018- Palomar softball combines for 16 hits scoring 14 runs on top of winning pitcher's (3-0), Garcia, shutout gem. Comet's bats come alive in game one to give Palomar a comfortable lead to give Garcia some breathing room on the rubber. Knocking out the Antelope Valley starter early, Palomar collects 16 hits, outhitting Antelope Valley 16-2.

Garcia, goose-eggs the Marauders in the first game of the double header match up. Garcia had everything working for her Friday afternoon, as she collected 7 strikeouts only giving up 2 hits through 7 innings. This crafty performance on the rubber improves her record to a perfect 3-0 as she carries her momentum into this week's matchup with Santa Ana.

The Comets' bats were on fire Game 1, combining for 16 hits on the day with 3 homeruns, two doubles and 11 singles. Leading the offensive charge was Sarah Fisher, who belted 2 homeruns and a single going 3-4 with 5 runs batted in. Close behind her was sophomore, Crystal Moore-DesLauriers going 2-4 with a single and a grand slam in the 5th collecting 4 RBIs. Other Comet's having multiple hit days were Allie Hughen, who was a perfect 4-4 with 4 singles and 1 RBI, Emily Burrow, a freshman that was 2-3 with a double and a single and 2 RBIs, and Kylie Pignone who was 2-3 with 2 singles on the day.

Game 2

Unlike Game 1 of this afternoon's double header, the Comet's bats weren't as hot. Thanks to DesLauriers' stellar game on the rubber, the Comets were able to hold on to win in 1-0 fashion. Antelope Valley called back their starter from game 1, who was able to make the adjustments and keep the Comet's off balance for most of the game.

The only run of the game was scored in the 6th inning with 2 outs when DesLauriers hit a ground rule double down the left field line. Along with her 2-3 day at the plate, DesLauriers threw a complete game shutout with 8 strikeouts only giving up 2 hits to the Antelope Valley Marauders. Fisher and Garcia also singled.

The (5-1) Comets are carrying their double header sweep into the new week with a matchup at Santa Ana on Tuesday, 2-13-18, a home game versus Chaffey College on Wednesday, 2-14-18, and another away game against Fullerton College on Friday, 2-16-18.
