Golf Medals Past Three of Four, Tied for First in Conference

SAN MARCOS --- Dating back to March 28th, the Comets have picked up three more medals in four conference events. With medals at St. Mark's, Pala Mesa, and The "S" Club, the Comets now have a total of 5 medals on the season in conference play which is more than every conference opponent.

It has been a very impressive back half of March and early April for the Comets as they have collected four team wins since March 26th with a streak of three in a row. These past three wins have come at Pala Mesa, The "S" Club, and Sycuan with decisive wins over College of the Desert and Mt. San Jacinto. Palomar is now tied in first place with College of the Desert with 26 wins and 6 losses on the season heading in to the final stretch with three conference meetings remaining.

Individually, Jacob Montes has taken sole possession of the number one ranked golfer in the conference with an average score of 73.3 with the next closest being a 75.8. Jacob Montes picked up his first medal on March 26th at El Dorado and has since added another with a 72 at The "S" Club bringing his medal count to two on the conference season.

Kyoshiro Azumada has earned his first two medals of the year in back-to-back fashion as he recorded the lowest score at home course St. Mark and at Pala Mesa. Azumada's 71 at St. Mark's was his lowest score on the year bringing him to be the 4th ranked golfer in the conference with an average score of 76.4.

The next round will be played at Sun Lakes Country Club in Banning, CA on April 16th where the Comets look to take a lead in conference standings and compete for sole possession of first place.
