Comets get revenge win over MSJC

SAN JACINTO, CA (11/8/2019) – In a rematch of last year's conference championship game, it was all Palomar as they walked away with an 82-64 win over Mt. San Jacinto College.

Nikki Mayoral led the team with 19 points for the Comets. Imari Cooley and Aaliyah Taylor both had 11. Julie Saelee finished with 10 while Melena Bland and Taylor Williams ended with nine. Williams also recorded seven assists. Lilly Crabtree, Gabby Sebit and Cooley all had eight rebounds apiece.

The team shot 35.2 percent in the field and 35.7 percent beyond the arc. Palomar recorded 44 rebounds and only committed eight turnovers and caused 19.

The Comets are now 3-0 and have knocked off two top 10 teams in southern California in the span of a week. Palomar will be home this weekend as they host their annual tournament. They will face Santa Monica at 7 p.m. on Friday, Riverside City 7 p.m. and East Los Angeles College Sunday at 3 p.m.
