Palomar College Baseball Set for 2025 SoCal Regionals Against Pasadena City College
SAN MARCOS, CA (4/27/2025) -- The Palomar College baseball team is gearing up for the start of postseason play as the No. 3 seed in the 2025 Southern California Regionals. The Comets (30-10) will face Pasadena City College (21-16) in a best-of-three series, beginning with Game 1 on Friday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Bob Vetter Field.
Palomar comes into the postseason fresh off a strong regular season, clinching their fourth consecutive conference title and finishing with a 21-4 record in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play. Led by key players like Drake Cobb, Adrian Macias, and Braedon Peterson-Cheek, the Comets are prepared to take on the challenge as they aim for a deep postseason run.
Game 2 of the series will be played on Saturday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m., and Game 3, if necessary, will follow at 2:00 p.m. The best-of-three series will determine which team advances to the next round of the tournament.
The Southern California Regionals will be a double-elimination format, with the second round taking place in a round robin style. The top seed in each quadrant will host the round robin if they advance past the first round. Palomar will have the opportunity to host the round robin only if they win their series against Pasadena City College.
The Comets will look to carry their strong momentum into the playoffs, with a well-balanced offense and pitching staff ready for the postseason. Joey Navarro, Ian Mowad, and Brandon Bollerer are expected to lead Palomar's pitching efforts, while their offense continues to shine with timely hits and strong performances from their key hitters.
